EA has revealed the FC 27 Icons Class of ’27: ten new legends joining Ultimate Team, from the highest-scoring international footballer in history to a World Cup winner who lifted the trophy in two different decades.

All 10 new FC 27 Icons
These are the ten new Icons in the Class of ’27, confirmed on EA’s official Icons hub. Six are from the women’s game and four from the men’s — the most balanced Icon class EA has released, and the highest-rated card of the ten belongs to a women’s player.

Ratings as revealed by EA on 24 August 2026 and relayed by the games press. EA’s player pages do not currently display stats, so treat the numbers as the reveal figures and confirm in game at launch. We have not published per-player face stats because those could not be verified from an official source.
The one thing to get right: the 89–91 figures everywhere online are the Champion ratings. If you pre-ordered, the card that lands in your club on day one is the Debut version at 85–86. It upgrades later — it does not arrive at 91.
Debut vs Champion Icons explained
FC 27 replaces the old base / mid / prime Icon tiers with a two-stage system built around a career arc.

So an Icon you receive at launch is not the finished article. The Champion version is the one carrying the headline rating, and it arrives later in the cycle.

Christine Sinclair
Canada · ST · Debut 86 → Champion 91 · Finesse Shot+
The highest international goalscorer in football history, of either gender: 190 goals in 331 caps across a career from 2000 to 2023. Olympic gold at Tokyo 2020, two bronzes, and five World Cups. The first Canadian Icon in the series.
Why you want the card: At 91 she is the highest-rated card in the class, and Finesse Shot+ makes her the curl-it-into-the-corner striker.
Sergio Agüero
Argentina · ST · Debut 86 → Champion 90 · Finesse Shot+
Manchester City’s all-time record scorer with 260 goals, five Premier League titles, and the most famous goal in the league’s history — 93:20 against QPR to win the 2012 title. Also won the Copa América in 2021 and Olympic gold in 2008.
Why you want the card: A pure box poacher. Finesse Shot+ plus his low-driven finishing makes him lethal inside the area rather than outside it.
Karl-Heinz Rummenigge
Germany · ST · Debut 86 → Champion 90 · First Touch+
Two-time Ballon d’Or winner (1980 and 1981), two European Cups with Bayern Munich, and a Euro 1980 winner with West Germany. Reached two World Cup finals.
Why you want the card: The most complete forward in the class — First Touch+ means the ball sticks, and he has the heading and acrobatics to finish from anywhere.
Ellen White
England · ST · Debut 86 → Champion 89 · Rapid+
England’s all-time leading scorer when she retired, with 52 goals in 113 caps. A Euro 2022 winner and the Bronze Boot at the 2019 World Cup with six goals.
Why you want the card: Rapid+ makes her the runner-in-behind. If your game is through balls over the top, this is your striker.
Midfielders and wingers
Formiga
Brazil · CDM · Debut 85 → Champion 90 · Intercept+
The only footballer of any gender to play in seven World Cups, and seven Olympic Games. Over 233 caps for Brazil across a career spanning 1993 to 2022, with two Olympic silvers.
Why you want the card: A defensive midfielder who also builds. Intercept+ breaks play up, and her passing PlayStyles mean she starts the attack rather than just ending the opponent’s.
Hege Riise
Norway · CM · Debut 85 → Champion 90 · Pinged Pass+
Won the 1995 World Cup and took the Golden Ball as its best player, then Olympic gold at Sydney 2000 and the Euros in 1993. FIFA Women’s Player of the Year in 1995.
Why you want the card: The deep playmaker. Pinged Pass+ is the standout PlayStyle for switching play quickly and accurately from her own half.
Tobin Heath
USA · RW · Debut 86 → Champion 90 · Quick Step+
Two World Cups (2015 and 2019) and Olympic gold at London 2012, across 181 caps. Played for Portland Thorns, Manchester United and Arsenal, and entered the National Soccer Hall of Fame in 2025.
Why you want the card: A dribbler’s winger. Quick Step+ and Trickster together make her the one-v-one specialist of the class.
Yūki Nagasato
Japan · CAM · Debut 85 → Champion 89 · Incisive Pass+
A 2011 World Cup winner with Japan and an Olympic silver medallist in 2012, who scored in the 2015 World Cup final. Won a Champions League treble with Wolfsburg in 2013 and also played for Chelsea.
Why you want the card: Incisive Pass+ is the through-ball PlayStyle. She is the creator who plays the pass the defence does not see.
Defenders
Raphaël Varane
France · CB · Debut 86 → Champion 90 · Anticipate+
Four Champions League titles and three LaLiga titles with Real Madrid, then Manchester United — and a World Cup winner with France in 2018.
Why you want the card: The complete modern centre-back: Anticipate+ for reading the game, plus aerial strength and genuine pace. The defender most people will chase.
Pepe
Portugal · CB · Debut 85 → Champion 89 · Bruiser+
Three Champions Leagues and a LaLiga title with Real Madrid, plus Porto, and a Euro 2016 winner across 141 caps for Portugal — playing at the top into his forties.
Why you want the card: The aggression build. Bruiser+, slide tackling and blocking make him the physical defender that forwards genuinely do not enjoy playing against.
How to get Icons in FC 27
EA describes Icons as special player items representing some of the most influential players in football history. They arrive through normal Ultimate Team content: packs, the Transfer Market, Squad Building Challenges, Objectives, Player Picks, rewards and special campaigns.
There is no single guaranteed route. In practice, most people get their first Icon from an SBC or from the Transfer Market rather than from a pack — Icon pack odds are low by design, which is worth understanding before you spend. Icons vs Heroes: what is the difference?
Icons are global legends, defined largely by what they achieved at international level. Heroes are cult figures tied to a specific club or league — enormously loved in one place rather than universally famous.
EA demonstrated that boundary itself this year by promoting Lúcio and Yaya Touré from Hero to full Icon status. Both had international careers that justified the upgrade.
When do FC 27 Icons become available?
EA SPORTS FC 27 launches worldwide on 25 September 2026, with up to seven days of early access for the Ultimate and Ultimate Plus editions from 18 September.
Debut Icons are available from the moment early access opens. The Champion upgrades arrive by 30 November 2026, so there is a gap of roughly ten weeks between receiving an Icon and seeing it reach its headline rating.

If you want the single best card, Christine Sinclair at 91 is the highest-rated of the class. If you want the one most likely to improve your actual team, the answer is usually a defender — Varane at 90, because pace and defending together in one centre-back is rarer and more useful than another striker.
