The official Wardogs PC requirements from Steam — minimum and recommended — plus a checker that tells you which tier your hardware actually lands in, and what is holding you back.
Wardogs System Requirements: Can Your PC Run It? (Official Specs)
Wardogs is a 100-player all-out warfare FPS from BULKHEAD, and it asks more of your PC than most shooters — 256 km² maps, vehicles, destruction and building all running at once. BULKHEAD publishes two official tiers on Steam.
Pick your hardware below and the checker tells you which tier you meet, what to expect at it, and which single component is holding you back.
Can I Run Wardogs on PC?
Pick the parts in your PC and this checks them against the two official Wardogs system requirement tiers on Steam — Minimum and Recommended — then tells you which one you land in and what is holding you back. Everything runs in your browser.

The official Wardogs PC requirements
Straight from the game’s Steam store page. Note the two things that catch people out: 16 GB of RAM is the figure at both tiers, so more RAM will not move you up, and 50 GB of storage is required either way.

A 64-bit processor and operating system are required, and the game uses a kernel-level anti-cheat called Elytra, which means accepting a third-party EULA before you can play.
Wardogs is online-only — there is no single-player
Worth being blunt about before you buy: Wardogs is online PvP only. There is no single-player campaign and no PvE mode beyond a practice range. A broadband connection is mandatory, and if the servers are down you cannot play.
The whole game is one mode — a King-of-the-Hill variant with 100 players split across three teams, first side to 100 points wins.
Does Wardogs run on Steam Deck or Linux?
Linux is not supported. That is BULKHEAD’s own position — a developer post on 4 September 2026 said “we do not officially support Linux and we cannot commit to having support for launch”, alongside refund instructions for Linux buyers. GamingOnLinux currently lists the game as Broken under the Elytra anti-cheat.
Steam Deck is a separate question with no answer yet. The Deck has no compatibility rating for Wardogs and BULKHEAD has never mentioned it. Since the Deck runs Linux through Proton and the anti-cheat is the blocker, it is reasonable to be pessimistic — but nobody has confirmed either way, so treat it as unverified rather than ruled out.
Known launch problems
Wardogs launched on 10 September 2026 and the first days were rough. BULKHEAD shipped a pinned Launch Stability Hotfix on day one and a separate pinned notice about incorrect bans.
The most-reported issues: long queues and authentication failures at peak, a crash during shader compilation, and stutter in your first match while shaders build. Players report the shader crash is helped by verifying the game files and clearing the shader cache — that fix is player-reported, not an official instruction.
Some players also hit Elytra anti-cheat errors, including service failures and crashes on boot. Reported workarounds include removing conflicting anti-cheat software. BULKHEAD has not published an official fix for those specific errors.
What settings actually matter for FPS
Global illumination, view distance and shadows are the heaviest settings players report. The catch is that view distance is the one you least want to lower in a game with kilometre-long sightlines. We go through the full list in the Wardogs settings guide.

What are the minimum requirements for Wardogs?
Windows 10 64-bit, an Intel Core i5 8600 or AMD Ryzen 5 3500, 16 GB of RAM, an Nvidia GTX 1660 or Radeon RX 590, 50 GB of storage and a broadband connection. That targets 1080p on Low at 60fps, upscaled.
What are the recommended specs for Wardogs?
Windows 11, an Intel Core i7 12700k or AMD Ryzen 7 5700x, 16 GB of RAM, an Nvidia RTX 3070 or AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT, and 50 GB of storage. BULKHEAD targets 1440p Medium at 70fps+ native, or 4K Medium at 60fps+ upscaled.
Does Wardogs need 32 GB of RAM?
No. 16 GB is the official figure at both the minimum and the recommended tier, so extra RAM will not move you into a higher tier.
Does Wardogs have single-player?
No. It is online PvP only — 100 players across three teams — with a practice range but no campaign and no PvE mode. A broadband connection is required.
Does Wardogs work on Steam Deck?
There is no Steam Deck compatibility rating and BULKHEAD has never commented on it. Linux is separately confirmed as unsupported by BULKHEAD, and the kernel-level Elytra anti-cheat is the obstacle, so Deck support looks unlikely — but it has not been confirmed either way.
Why does Wardogs crash on startup?
The most-reported cause is a crash during shader compilation. Players report that verifying the game files and clearing the shader cache helps, and some Elytra anti-cheat errors are reported to clear after removing conflicting anti-cheat software. Neither is an official BULKHEAD instruction.
