As of 2026-10-07, 2K has officially announced the NBA 2K25 Servers Shutting Down and Game Delisted dates, marking the end of the title’s online lifecycle. This means players will soon lose access to all online features, including MyCareer and MyTeam, highlighting ongoing frustrations over the short lifespan of annual sports games.

You have a limited time left to enjoy the online features of NBA 2K25 before it is removed from digital stores and its servers are taken offline. If you want to finish your MyCareer or MyTeam progress, you will need to do so before the end of 2026.

2K has confirmed that NBA 2K25 will be removed from digital storefronts on October 30, 2026, according to source. Following this delisting, the game’s online servers will permanently shut down on December 31, 2026. This move marks the end of official support for the title, a standard but often controversial practice for annual sports franchises.

Starting January 1, 2027, all online features will become inaccessible. This includes multiplayer modes, MyTeam, MyCareer, and community sharing. Because MyCareer requires a constant server connection for progression and Virtual Currency (VC) management, the single-player story mode will no longer function. Additionally, the MyTEAM Mobile 2K25 companion app will go offline on December 31, 2026.

Players will no longer be able to earn or spend VC in the game after the server shutdown. However, it is important to note that the game will not be completely unplayable. Offline modes such as Play Now, MyNBA, The W, and MyWNBA will remain fully accessible for users who already own the game, ensuring that local multiplayer and offline franchise building can continue.

For players in the UK, this announcement means there is a limited window to finish any MyCareer or MyTeam progression in NBA 2K25. If you have been grinding towards a specific overall rating or building a dream roster, you have until the end of 2026 to complete your goals.

If you do not own the game yet but wish to purchase it digitally to play the offline modes, you must do so before the October 30, 2026 delisting date. After this date, physical copies will be the only way for new players to acquire the game.

Any unspent Virtual Currency (VC) in NBA 2K25 will effectively become useless after December 31, 2026. Players are strongly advised to spend their remaining balances while the servers are still live. VC cannot be transferred to newer NBA 2K games, as 2K does not allow currency transfers between different years’ editions. Therefore, players wanting the full, connected NBA 2K experience will need to upgrade to a newer entry, such as NBA 2K26 or NBA 2K27.

While NBA 2K25 is reaching the end of its online life, players moving on to newer titles like NBA 2K26 or NBA 2K27 can easily fund their in-game purchases using Recharge.com. Whether you are buying the base game or stocking up on VC for your new MyPlayer, digital gift cards offer a secure and instant way to pay.

You can buy a PlayStation Store gift card, Xbox gift card, Steam gift card, or Nintendo eShop gift card on Recharge.com to top up your platform wallet. This is especially useful for players managing a budget, and those looking to maximise their value might also want to explore student discounts on gaming to stretch their funds further.

Once your wallet is funded, you can use the balance to purchase the latest NBA 2K games directly from your console’s store. The topped-up wallet balance can also be used to buy Virtual Currency (VC) for the newest NBA 2K releases, ensuring you are ready to hit the courts on day one.

The lifecycle of NBA 2K25 follows a strict schedule leading up to its eventual server closure.
