The distinction matters. Plenty of “confirmed features” lists online mix in details from leaked material or fan speculation. Anything in the bottom section genuinely has no official answer yet \u2014 and treating it as settled is how misinformation spreads.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Release date, platforms and editions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

GTA 6 launches on 19 November 2026<\/strong> for PlayStation 5<\/strong> and Xbox Series X|S<\/strong>. Those are the only platforms Rockstar has announced; the game is not coming to PS4, Xbox One or Nintendo Switch, and no PC version has been announced. Rockstar\u2019s own page notes the game “plays best on PlayStation 5”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are two editions \u2014 Standard<\/strong> and Ultimate<\/strong>. Rockstar describes the Ultimate Edition as an exclusive collection of premium vehicles, weapons, apparel and action threaded across all aspects of Jason and Lucia\u2019s story. In the US the Standard Edition is $79.99 and the Ultimate Edition $99.99; in the UK that is \u00a369.99 and \u00a389.99. Pricing in other markets follows the PlayStation and Xbox stores.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jason and Lucia: two playable protagonists<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

GTA 6 has two playable protagonists \u2014 Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos<\/strong> \u2014 and Lucia is the first female lead in the series\u2019 history. Rockstar has built the story around the pair, and the official trailers show them together across missions and the open world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The setting: Leonida and Vice City<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

GTA 6 is set in the state of Leonida<\/strong>, a modern-day take on Florida, with Vice City<\/strong> at its heart. It is the first mainline return to Vice City since 2002, and the trailers show a world spanning the city itself plus beaches, wetlands, waterways, highways and rural areas beyond it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rockstar has not published a map size figure, so any “twice the size of GTA 5” number you see is an estimate rather than an official statistic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What the official trailers show<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Everything in this section comes from footage Rockstar has released. It is real \u2014 you can watch it \u2014 but Rockstar has not published mechanical detail for most of it, so treat it as “this is in the game” rather than “this is exactly how it works”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vehicles and driving<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Driving is central, as always. The trailers show sports cars, everyday traffic, motorbikes, boats and jet skis across city streets, highways and open water. Rockstar has not published a vehicle list, count, or details of any customisation system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Water, beaches and the coast<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Leonida\u2019s coastline is a genuine feature rather than scenery. Official footage shows characters swimming, beaches busy with crowds, boats on open water, and wetland and waterway areas. This is a noticeably bigger part of the world than in GTA 5.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Weapons, combat and police<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Shootouts, armed robbery and police pursuits all feature in the trailers, including chases by road and air. Specific weapon lists, wanted-level mechanics and police AI behaviour have not been detailed by Rockstar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Crowds, characters and world detail<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The most striking thing in the footage is density: busy beaches, packed streets, crowded club interiors, and individually distinct NPCs. Character models, lighting, weather and water are a clear generational step up \u2014 though Rockstar has published no technical specifications, so resolution, frame rate and rendering features remain unconfirmed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Social media, TV and radio satire<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The trailers lean heavily on in-world social media clips, livestreams, news segments and radio \u2014 the series\u2019 satire, updated for the short-video era. It is one of the most distinctive things about how GTA 6 presents its world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Is GTA 6 multiplayer? What about GTA Online?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

GTA 6 is a single-player experience at launch.<\/strong> That is confirmed \u2014 Rockstar\u2019s own store FAQ states it plainly, and Take-Two reiterated it in June 2026. There is no GTA Online-style mode included when the game launches on 19 November 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A separate online mode is widely expected<\/em> to follow, but Rockstar has not confirmed one \u2014 no name, no date, no details. Anything you read about progression carrying over from GTA V\u2019s GTA Online, returning-player bonuses or roleplay tools is speculation. What Take-Two has said is that the existing GTA Online will stay in market after GTA 6 arrives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cross-play, cross-progression and PC: not announced<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

These are the three most-asked GTA 6 questions with the clearest answer: Rockstar has not announced any of them.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is no confirmed cross-play<\/strong> between PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, no confirmed cross-progression<\/strong>, and no announced PC version<\/strong> \u2014 no release window, no system requirements. Historically Rockstar has brought GTA titles to PC later, but “historically” is not a confirmation, and any 2027 PC date you see is analyst speculation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because the game is single-player at launch, cross-play has nothing to apply to yet in any case. We keep the full cross-platform answer<\/a> updated as Rockstar says more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We deliberately exclude material from the 2022 and 2026 gameplay leaks \u2014 it is unverified, Rockstar has never stood behind it, and a lot of it describes builds that changed.
