What happens between now and launch

The road to 19 November now has several confirmed dates. Here’s what is on the calendar:

• Pre-orders: These opened on 25 June through the PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, Rockstar Games Store and participating retailers.
• 27 August: Rockstar aired “GTA VI: An Extended Look”, an almost 27-minute presentation captured entirely from in-game PS5 footage.
• 12 November: Digital pre-loading begins for players who pre-order the game. The physical version, which contains a download code, also becomes available.
• 19 November: GTA 6 launches on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

Rockstar hasn't announced exact UK unlock times, which is why the countdown above ticks to midnight Amsterdam time (CET) as its reference.

What to sort before day one

The checklist in the widget covers five things, and each one has a reason behind it:

• Pre-order placed. Secures your copy and, on digital storefronts, allows you to preload the game from 12 November.
• Edition chosen. The Standard Edition costs £69.99, while the Ultimate Edition costs £89.99 and includes additional vehicles, weapons and apparel.
• Storage checked. The installation size has not been confirmed. Check your available SSD space, but wait for official download information before deleting other games.
• Wallet topped up. Make sure your PlayStation or Xbox balance covers the edition you plan to purchase.
• Preload completed. Start the download from 12 November to avoid relying on a launch-day download.

An active PlayStation Plus or Xbox Game Pass Core subscription is not required for the announced single-player story. Rockstar has not confirmed a GTA 6 online mode or its subscription requirements.

Confirmed prices and platforms

Two editions are confirmed in the UK: Standard at £69.99 and Ultimate at £89.99.

Both editions include the Vintage Vice City Pack with qualifying purchases. Eligible digital pre-orders also include one month of GTA+. Check the subscription redemption and automatic-renewal terms before claiming the offer.
