FC 27 Editions Compared: Standard vs Ultimate vs Ultimate Plus

The FC 27 Ultimate Plus Edition leaves stores after 31 August 2026 — one week from now. It’s pre-order only, and it’s the sole edition carrying Premium Passes for Seasons 1–5 and the Hall of FUT Player Pick. If you’ve been putting off the edition decision, this is the week it stops being optional.

There are three editions — Standard, Ultimate and Ultimate Plus — and the gap between them is mostly FC Points, Premium Passes and an early start. What’s in each edition

Standard is the game and nothing else. You start on launch day, 25 September 2026, and pay $69.99 in the US — £69.99 is the expected UK price, though EA hasn’t confirmed sterling pricing for the two cheaper editions yet.

Ultimate ($99.99, £99.99 expected) adds up to 6,000 FC Points delivered in three monthly drops, the Season 1 Premium Pass, and early access from 18 September.

Ultimate Plus is the only tier with confirmed pricing across regions — $149.99, £139.99 or €159.99 — and stacks up to 10,000 FC Points across five monthly drops, Premium Passes for Seasons 1–5, the Hall of FUT Player Pick and the same 18 September start. The FC Points maths, in plain words

EA’s standard tiers price 5,900 FC Points at $49.99, so Ultimate’s 6,000 bundled points are worth roughly $50 if you’d bought them at the till. Ultimate costs $30 more than Standard. In other words: if you were going to buy points anyway, the upgrade roughly pays for itself before you even count the Season 1 pass or the week of early access. If you never touch Ultimate Team, it’s $30 for content you won’t use — buy Standard.

The same logic scales up for Ultimate Plus: 10,000 points come to about $85 at that street rate, against an $80 premium over Standard — before the five Premium Passes and the Hall of FUT Player Pick. The one catch is delivery: the points arrive as monthly drops, not a lump sum on day one, so it’s value spread across the season rather than launch-week spending power. Early access, explained

Ultimate and Ultimate Plus buyers start on 18 September — up to seven days before the 25 September worldwide launch. Standard buyers wait for launch day. If you take Ultimate Team seriously, a week’s head start before most of the player base arrives is part of the value calculation, not a footnote. And if early access is the only extra you care about, note that Plus adds content, not extra days — Ultimate is the cheaper route to the 18 September start.

Is the FC 27 Ultimate Edition worth it?

If you play Ultimate Team and would buy FC Points regardless, yes — the 6,000 bundled points alone roughly cover the $30 premium over Standard at street rate, and the Season 1 Premium Pass and early access come on top. If Ultimate Team isn’t your mode, Standard is the sensible buy.

What’s in Ultimate Plus and when does it disappear?

Can I upgrade from Standard to Ultimate later?

EA hasn’t detailed upgrade paths for FC 27, so don’t bank on one — check the current store listing on your platform before you buy. The one certainty is that Ultimate Plus can’t be bought at all after 31 August, upgrade or otherwise.
