In short, no – these platforms don’t offer any permanent student discounts (though some have been known to run temporary student offers, so keep an eye out). If you want discounts from these companies, your best bet is to look for seasonal or offers, like Black Friday deals or introductory promotions on subscriptions.

It’s possible to save money by taking advantage of introductory discounts – as long as you cancel them before the full price charges kick in. If you’re worried you’ll forget to do this, it’s worth using a game voucher when you sign up. These are prepaid cards that give you a digital code (accepted by the likes of Xbox Live Gold, PlayStation Now and PlayStation Plus). Once the prepaid amount expires, there’s no automatic renewal. This means you can test out a new subscription without committing to it or risking forgetting to cancel.

• Your material – Twitch’s Community Guidelines require correct use of Content Classification Labels and prohibit endangering content. You also need permission to feature others in your stream.
• Your university policies – if you’re streaming from campus or while wearing a sports team uniform, for example, your institution may have its own guidelines or rules that apply.
